They must have this basic instinct for me to consider using them in our breeding program. Movement is also a must. A Pem should move low and flat, holding their topline straight and level in an effortless gliding trott. Corgis are a friendly breed. They should be friendly. We temperament test all puppies at 8 weeks using an independent animal behavioral specialist.

You have to be firm while training or they think you are playing. An obedience class for anyone not familiar with this breed is a must. They can get yappy if not disciplined correctly. They can also nip heels which is unacceptable behavior and must be corrected immediately. If you can be a tough love pet parent a corgi is the most loyal partner you will ever have.
